Employment rate in Italy hits record high – ISTAT – English

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 2 – ISTAT said on Monday that Italy’s employment rate reached 59.9% in March, with more than 23.04 million people working here, the highest level high never recorded since the beginning of the statistical series in 2004.
The national statistics agency said the number of people in employment in Italy increased by 81,000 in March compared to February and by 804,000 compared to the same month in 2021.
She said the increase was mostly for women and people over 24.
He said 9.776 million women worked in Italy and 51.2% of women of working age here were employed.
ISTAT said the number of unemployed and inactive people in the labor market fell in March.
He said the unemployment rate fell 0.2 percentage points to 8.3%, bringing it back to 2010 levels.
However, the youth unemployment rate reached 24.5% of those under 25 active in the labor market, an increase of 0.3 percentage points. (ANSA).
